  In 2002, I stayed overnight in Sorrento (was booked for 3 nights). The hotel was so underwhelming, we quickly moved onto our next destination and spent the extra days there. The Hotel Il Nido has now given me a reason to linger in Sorrento. Pirched high on a hill just minutes from the city center, the panoramic, breath taking views alone are compelling enough. But the reasons for choosing Hotel Il Nido only begin with the view. Excellent food, prepared by one of the brothers in this family owned hotel (and occaisionally Momma herself), shuttle service to/from the train station and city center at convienent times for guests, quality rooms with all amenities, free internet and wifi, quiet, safe, elevator, laundry facilities and on and on. The brothers, Dino and Gianni, now run the hotel built by their parents in 1965. The personal pride in carrying on the family business is evident in every aspect and detail.   We stayed at Il Nido back in late August, early September of 2009. After visiting Italy a half dozen times and staying in numerous hotels throughout this beautiful country, I truly without a doubt have to say that this is one of the best experiences we had. Nino and his family run an excellent operation. Great hospitality and the food at the restaurant is devine, the service was the best and the rooms are immaculate. The location of this hotel sits on top of Sorrento overlooking breathtaking views. The free shuttle is available and gets you into Sorrento in a matter of minutes. My wife and I are returning back to the Amalfi coast again with some friends in September, 2011 and will be making reservations once again at this spectacular hotel.   I stayed at Il Nido in 2006, and am planning another trip back in 2011. It is a marvellous hotel and the service and family running it are fantastic. Incredible value, low key and charming. A cut above the kind of thing you’ld expect at this price. Great tours from the hotel (I went on 2) were also great value. The courtesy mini-van which runs up and back from Sorrento is all you need to get wherever you want for a day trip to everything around, Pompeii, Capri, Amalfi coast etc. Definitely a winner

  Il Nido is one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in. Thank you to all wonderful staffs (from the shuttle driver, easy check in, and delicious breakfast) at Il Nido – what a beautiful family with warm hospitality. The room is so clean, not to mention that it’s the biggest hotel room for a reasonable price. The view from your restaurant is priceless. We enjoyed our stay and our meals (breakfast & dinner) at Il Nido very much. The SITA bus also stopped right in front of the hotel, after our trip from Amalfi Coast. The rooms were great, the food was superb as was the view and the service and attention to us was incredible!! Thanks for helping me take care of my parking ticket.   My brother, Tom Severino, his partner, Tony Wallner and I stayed at your fabulous hotel from July 14th through July 18th. The rooms, view, service, food and especially the hospitality were exceptional. Thank you Dino, and your staff for a wonderful experience. I will highly recommend your hotel to anyone I know that will be traveling to Italy.

  We stayed at Il Nido June 13-18 and thoroughly enjoyed it. The view from our room was fantastic and the price was very reasonable. The restaurant was a pleasant surprise and a very welcome respite after a hot day of sightseeing. Order the lemon shrimp risotto. Dino and his family go above and beyond expectations; they are very hardworking. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
