We were lucky to have suffered the delays caused by the volcanic eruption in Iceland, lucky ….yes …because our flight home was twice delayed; we were able to stay at this lovely hotel longer than expected. From the moment we were collected in the hotel bus, by Nello this hotel exceeded our expectations. Dino is a perfect host and his brother Gianni a brilliant cook, must mention Maria who looked after us each night at dinner, breakfast looking out over the Bay of Naples to Vesuvius is a joy, sampling freshly squeezed orange juice, oranges go in top of the machine, press button- fresh juice flows out- marvellous. By night the Bay takes on a completely new view with all the lights twinkling.

The service was wonderful, nothing was too much trouble, the food was superb, and the room was clean and comfortable. If you are planning to eat at the hotel save the steak until the last night, it’s well worth waiting for.

We are looking forward to going back very soon.

What started as an already excellent first time in Italy, treated with soothing views and outstanding service, got all more revealing of the best of human nature when the "eruption disruption" (think Icelandic volcano) happened. Dino and staff handled all the worrying guests with the calmest of Italian problemsolving, enabled us to stay on and search for alternatives to get home. The hotel shuttle timetable allows one to explore Sorrento, making own adventures as you find your way to the port "deep down there" and the "ancient wall" on foot. Breakfasts are enormous delights, we are now spoiled forever - no other orange juice can ever taste as good. Clean rooms, caring staff, culinary delights - if that is what a little bird would wish for in its nest, be assured that is what humans get here in "The Nest". Graci Molto, Dino and Gianni - we wish you loads of others to come and rest in this nest.

Had a great six-night stay at Il Nido just last week. The rooms were very comfortable and the views from the balcony breathtaking! The restaurant in the hotel was also excellent and good value - a great place to watch the sunset. Staff very friendly and the shuttle-bus very comfortable and convenient.

Both my sister and brother-in-laws and my husband stayed at the hotel in June 2009. We had a wonderful 10 day stay at the hotel, whereas most guests seemed to stop for only a night or two, we stayed longer. The staff are friendly and welcoming; and the sunsets over the bay of Naples are truly breathtaking. The regular courtesy bus to and from the hotel is clean and cool - so very welcoming after a long tiring day of sightseeing. The boat trip around the islands is also excellent, especially when you anchor in a bay or cove and dive or jump off the side of the boat. Brilliant!
