Balcony of Heaven

     I am in heaven again, in Sorrento…. It is spring and the lemon trees are in full fruit everywhere.  I am on our balcony looking out at this fabulous panoramic view of the Bay of Naples and Mt Vesuvius directly in front of me.  The rocky cliffs to the bay and many villages climbing up the mountains to my right.  To my left, a church and several homes, each with their lemon trees and olive trees, seem to fade into the beautiful blue sea.  The church bells ring ever so often; they seem to be in harmony with the beautiful songs of the birds….. It is so good to forget about time.

     The song birds are singing everywhere. (I would sing too, if I lived at IL Nido “The Nest”)  The cherry trees are in bloom and it is beautiful with the backdrop of the distant cliffs, with villages of white and yellow houses and terra cotta roofs.  There are lemon groves and olive groves everywhere amongst the houses which go from our cliff to the Sea of Naples.  I keep getting my camera out… I’ve taken many pictures of this fabulous panoramic view.  Maybe 1 more picture will keep it with me forever.

     This is the perfect place for Allan and I to be on our 50^th Wedding Anniversary and renew our love.  (I really mean it)
